Bike Lodi had the privilege and honor to receive the Proclamation for Bike Month and Bike to Work Day from the City of Lodi at tonight's City Council Meeting. We were also able to honor the first three businesses with the Bike Lodi Bike Friendly Business Awards. Please join us in congratulating Flight Lounge Woodbridge, LangeTwins Family Winery and Vineyards and Kirsten Company, LLC. Each of these companies has provided support, encouragement, and commitment to our cycling community. We look forward to continuing to work with them to make Lodi an Exceptional Cycling Community.
Bike Lodi members Doug Bojack and Jeff Pell presented the idea of turning Lodi’s unused Union Pacific spur line extending from Lockeford Street to Woodbridge into a bike trail during a Lodi City Council shirtsleeve session set for Tuesday morning. Details: 7:00 am March 20th at the Lodi City Council Shirt Sleeve meeting to hear more about this exciting idea! Roundup your bicycles and herd them over to the World of Wonders Science Museum! Don't let unsafe cycling throw you from the saddle -- rein in those habits at the inaugural Lodi Bike Rodeo!
Presented by Bike Lodi and San Joaquin County Public Health Services, this FREE educational event is an opportunity for families to bring their bicycles and safety equipment in for inspection and to experience cycling clinics with safety skills training. Be sure your bike is properly sized for your height; your helmet fits correctly, etc. We'll also have various courses set up for you to practice safe navigation on your bicycle. Learn hand signals, the meaning of common road signs, etc.
Upon completion of the rodeo activities, kids will receive a gift bag with items from some of the participating organizations, including California Highway Patrol, American Medical Response, San Joaquin Bike Coalition, Performance Bicycle, Lodi Bike Shop, and more!
*General Admission to the W.O.W. Museum is separate: $5-kids & military / $6-seniors & students / $7 adults
